Monthly Meeting June 10, 2019

7:00 PM

Present: Commissioners, Gregorio, Darling, Bartolotta (arrived at 7:17 p.m.), Thazhampallath, Kleckowski; Chief Howley, Fire Department members and members of the public.

  1. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Gregorio called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

  2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was recited.

  3. OPEN PUBLIC SESSION Chairman Gregorio opened the Public Session at 7:01 p.m. No one wished to speak.

  4. CLOSE PUBLIC SESSION Chairman Gregorio closed the Public Session at 7:02 p.m.

  5. MINUTES TO BE APPROVED
    A) Budget Workshop of April 3, 2019
    MOTION to approve the minutes of the April 3, 2019 budget workshop by Comm. Darling/Comm. Kleckowski. Unanimously approved.
    B) Special Meeting of April 8, 2019
    MOTION to approve the minutes of the April 8, 2019 special meeting by Comm. Darling/Comm. Kleckowski. Unanimously approved.
    C) Budget Workshop of April 8, 2019
    MOTION to approve the minutes of the April 8, 2019 budget workshop by Comm. Darling/ Comm. Kleckowski. Unanimously approved.
    D) Regular Meeting of April 8, 2019
    MOTION to approve the minutes of the April 8, 2019 regular meeting by Comm. Darling/Comm. Kleckowski. Unanimously approved.
    E) Budget Meeting of April 30, 2019
    MOTION to approve the minutes of the April 30, 2019 budget meeting by Comm. Kleckowski/ Comm. Darling. Unanimously approved.

  6. TAX COLLECTOR'S REPORT was reviewed by the Commission.
    A) TAX REBATES
    MOTION to approve tax rebates to various taxpayers in the amount of $439.55 by Comm. Kleckowski/Comm. Darling. Unanimously approved.

    B) The Commission reviewed the Tax Collector's report submitted by Tax Collector Cindy Gotta.

    MOTION to approve the Tax Collector's Report by Comm. Thazhampallath/Comm. Darling. Unanimously approved.

    C) PROPERTIES FOR TAX SALE
    MOTION to approve the list of properties for tax sale with Adam Cohen by Comm. Thazhampallath/Comm. Kleckowski. Unanimously approved.

    D) NEGATIVE BALANCE PURGE
    MOTION to approve the negative balance purge by Comm. Thazhampallath/Comm. Kleckowski. Unanimously approved.

    E) SUSPENSE TAX BOOK
    MOTION to transfer the uncollectible tax bills to the Suspense Tax Book by Comm. Thazhampallath/ Comm. Kleckowski. Unanimously approved.

  7. MONTHLY FINANCIAL REPORTS were reviewed by the Commission.
    MOTION to approve the Monthly Financial Reports by Comm. Thazhampallath/Comm. Darling. Unanimously approved.

  8. CHIEF'S REPORT/DEPUTY CHIEF'S REPORT/ACTING FIRE MARSHAL'S REPORT
    The Commission reviewed the reports submitted by Chief Howley, Deputy Chief Trzaski, and Acting Fire Marshal Mastroianni.

    Chief Howley requested permission to begin the process of hiring two firefighters to fill vacancies caused by Captain and Fire Marshal Office promotions.

    MOTION to approve the Chief's report, the Deputy Chief's report, and the Acting Fire Marshal's report by Comm. Darling/Comm. Bartolotta. Unanimously approved.

    MOTION to approve the hiring of two firefighters to fill the vacancies caused by Captain and Fire Marshal Office promotions by Comm. Thazhampallath/Comm. Kleckowski. Unanimously approved.

  9. COMMISSIONER'S REPORT
    BUILDING COMMITTEE
    Commissioner Thazhampallath advised that we are waiting to hear from the State and thanked Commissioner Bartolotta for her efforts during this process.

    None.

  12. ADJOURNMENT
