Monthly Meeting December 10, 2018

7:00 PM

Present: Commissioners Gregorio, Darling, Thazhampallath, Kleckowski; Chief Howley; Fire Department members and members of the public.
Absent: Commissioner Bartolotta

  1. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Gregorio called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

  2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was recited.

  3. OPEN PUBLIC SESSION Chairman Gregorio opened the Public Session at 7:01 p.m. No one wished to speak.

  4. CLOSE PUBLIC SESSION Chairman Gregorio closed the Public Session at 7:01 p.m.

  5. REVIEW OF INDEPENDENT AUDITOR'S REPORT
    CHARLES T. COSTELLO, COSTELLO COMPANY, LLC
    Mr. Costello gave an overview of the draft Independent Auditor's Report. The report will be made available for public review once it is fully executed.

    MOTION to approve the Independent Auditor's Report by Comm. Darling/Comm. Kleckowski. Unanimously approved.

    Commissioner Thazhampallath moved to amend the motion to add "...as presented and to authorize Costello Company, LLC to submit the report to the State of Connecticut in accordance with the guidelines of the State of Connecticut." Seconded by Comm. Kleckowski. Unanimously approved.

  6. MINUTES TO BE APPROVED
    A) Regular Meeting of November 13, 2018
    MOTION to approve the minutes of the November 13, 2018 regular meeting by Comm. Darling/ Comm. Kleckowski. Unanimously approved.

  7. TAX COLLECTOR'S REPORT was reviewed by the Commission.
    A) TAX REBATES
    MOTION to approve tax rebates to various taxpayers in the amount of $1,713.50 by Comm. Kleckowski/Comm. Darling. Unanimously approved.

    B) The Commission reviewed the Tax Collector's report submitted by Tax Collector Cindy Gotta.

    MOTION to approve the Tax Collector's Report by Comm. Darling/Comm. Thazhampallath. Unanimously approved.

  8. MONTHLY FINANCIAL REPORTS were reviewed by the Commission.
    MOTION to approve the Monthly Financial Reports by Comm. Darling/Comm. Kleckowski. Unanimously approved.

  9. CHIEF'S REPORT AND CAPTAIN'S REPORT
    The Commission reviewed the reports submitted by Chief Howley and Captain Trzaski.

    MOTION to approve the Chief's report and the Captain's report by Comm. Darling/ Comm. Thazhampallath. Unanimously approved.

  10. DEPUTY CHIEF/FIRE MARSHAL'S REPORT
    The Commission reviewed the reports submitted by Deputy Chief Krol and Deputy Fire Marshal Lou Bartolotta.

    MOTION to approve the Deputy Chief's report and the Deputy Fire Marshal's report by Comm. Thazhampallath/Comm. Darling. Unanimously approved.

  11. COMMISSIONER'S REPORT
    PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATIONS
    Commissioner Darling advised that the 12/3/18 meeting was not held due to lack of a quorum.

    BUILDING COMMITTEE
    Commissioner Thazhampallath gave an overview of the 11/3/18 meeting. Chief Howley discussed the question received by the contractors.

  12. OLD BUSINESS None.

  13. NEW BUSINESS None.

  14. ADJOURNMENT
    MOTION to adjourn by Comm. Darling/Comm. Kleckowski. Unanimously approved.
