Budget Workshop Meeting March 11, 2019

Present: Commissioners Gregorio, Darling, Bartolotta, Thazhampallath, Kleckowski; Chief Howley, Fire Department members and members of the public.

  1. CALL TO ORDER
    Commissioner Gregorio called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m.

  2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
    The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

  3. OPEN PUBLIC SESSION
    Commissioner Gregorio opened the public session at 6:03 p.m. No one wished to speak.

  4. CLOSE PUBLIC SESSION
    Commissioner Gregorio closed public session at 6:03 p.m.

  5. BUDGET WORKSHOP
    Chief Howley discussed the items outlined in the draft 3/11/19 "2019-2020 Budget Notes" (copies of documents attached) and answered questions from the Commissioners. Following a lengthy discussion regarding 7603-Replacements/Call Backs, Commissioner Thazhampallath requested a chart illustrating the overtime trend.

    The draft budget shows an 11.94% increase, 8% of which is attributable to the 7607-Heart and Hypertension. This is an unfunded liability not covered by insurance.

  6. RE-OPEN PUBLIC SESSION
    Commissioner Gregorio re-opened the public session at 7:10 p.m.

  7. CLOSE PUBLIC SESSION
    Commissioner Gregorio closed the public session at 7:17 p.m.

  8. ADJOURNMENT
    MOTION to adjourn by Comm. Darling/Comm. Bartolotta. Unanimously approved.
