Workers Compensation Safety Award

On November 21, South Fire District was present with the 2007 Workers Compensation Safety Award. This award is given to only 5 organizations statewide that meet the high standards of the Workers Compensation Commission by demonstrating no more than a ten percent increase in workers compensation cases annually.

Organizations must also have an active health and safety committee that keeps minutes and implements appropriate engineering controls and policy changes to ensure a safe work place environment.

A formal presentation ceremony was held at the South Fire District at 3 PM on Friday November 21.

The award was presented in person by Mike Petosa, Supervisor of The State of Connecticut Workers Compensation Commission, and David Cohen, Safety Program officer from the State Workers Compensation Commission.
